When was Mahatma Gandhi killed and by whom?

Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30th January 1948 in Birla Bhawan New Delhi when he was walking out to the gardens for the evening prayer.

He was shot by Nathuram Godse who was a Hindu fundamentalist with former membership of RSS and Hindu Mahasabha. He shot Gandhiji on chest with three bullets. He gave his statements justifying Gandhi's murder during his trial and decades later his statement was realised for public, soon it was published and drew attention.

Many believe that his statement is quite convincing but I believe that it ia only so till you didn't read the counter view.
